Karen Curtin has been appointed as the new managing director of the Graven Hill Village Development Company, which is
leading the delivery of the UK’s largest self and custom-build housing development.

Miss Curtin has undertaken the interim managing director role on a part time basis on two previous occasions alongside her position as Commercial Director for Cherwell District and South Northamptonshire Councils. She will move into the permanent role at Graven Hill from July 2017.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining the company at such an exciting time in its development.  On the housing side
there is a great deal of interest not only in the plot sales, but also in the brand new range of homes that can be customised. Later this year it is also expected that we will open the show homes and the first residents will move onto the development.

“And from a business perspective, I am encouraged to see that there has been a significant amount of interest in the commercial land.

She added: “I have always been proud of the vision held by Cherwell District Council which was to give people a real
opportunity to create quality homes that are tailored to their lifestyles. The development at Graven Hill not only provides this, it also combines a stunning rural location in close proximity to the market town of Bicester and with excellent road and rail networks.”

Sue Smith, chairman of the board of the Graven Hill Village Development Company said:  “As well as being the first
project of its kind in the UK, it is also the largest. With the scale of development matching our ambition we know that others are watching closely to see if they can replicate this.

“It was therefore essential that we appointed someone with the skills set to deliver on our vision as well as enthusiasm and passion for the role and we are confident that Karen will bring this.”
